Why I love DA

It all started when I was thrown on the graveyard shift at work. There was all this talk about a game where you design robots, and throw them in arena's to fight. I thought is sounded ok, and I knew that web based games can be fun, as I used to play Planetarion a lot. So I figured what the heck, it's not like I'm entirely all that busy at work, Might as well try something new. I opened up an account, and played as a trail since apparently it was already near the end of the season, joined a corp of all co workers called the midnight maniacs. We did fairly well as a trail corp, moved up to 15th corp rank even though we only joined in the last 2 weeks. Me being a very competitive player, thought this was Awesome.

One of the more established players at my work then worked out an agreement with his corp leader to have us join Anarchy inc next season. So we figured, yay more people to play with. I joined Anarchy inc for that season I believe it was season 8, and that was an interesting season. Got to see a lot of the politics involved with a bigger corp. I loved some of the friends I made while I was in Anarchy, some from Europe, some from Australia, and some from other places that I never did find out. Talking with people from other cultures is very interesting and I think it's one of the main reasons I play this game, because I know the people who play this game have a certain level of intelligence that I can expect out of them. We were juggling back and forth with Predators for 1st and 2nd place that season. We ended up being 2nd place, but we did our best! I got really addicted to the betting in the game, I thought it was great fun!

Well next season I went back to Anarchy, but I left them within a week. Mostly had to do with activity, there wasn't very many truly active players there. So I tried out Ganjah Pharmers, they were a pretty active corp, but they got taken out early in the season by a in house saboteur, Which gave me a new view of how careful you have to be with trust in the game, some people will do anything to take someone else out. This new element that I was introduced to didn't make me mad, I was disappointed as I was enjoying the new corp, but it made me realize that there is more to the game then just the standard rules, which is a good thing! I then joined LLJK, I knew a single person there, so I figured I would give them a try. Again, the corp was a lot of fun, a lot of active players, who talked a lot, very friendly, a very care free environment. So I settled there as home. And just from regular fun playing, we weren't even trying to hit the top ranks, we simply played for fun, but we did it, we came in first place that season. That was so very exciting. I forgot to mention the whole reason I played that season was because the kindness of a man in Australia who bought me a PAC. I thought that was the coolest thing, and I hope one day I can return that favor for someone else.

This season, I tried to create my own corp, to help teach new players, after a few days, when no one joined me, I ended up going back to LLJK, since they kept poking me, asking me to join back with them. And within no time at all they made me leader, which I thought was a real honor, considering I never even asked to be a leader. So now I get to lead a great corp, with a great group of people. It's interesting trying to hold things together, being a leader in anarchy inc was totally different then here in LLJK. Maybe that's because there was so many leaders in Anarchy, it was easier, but here in LLJK, there is a lot of responsibility. And I like it! It's fun bossing people around, especially when the listen to you. And you can really see where the loyalties lay.

I was fortunate enough to get in the beta testing for Season 9, which was a really good experience. The part I enjoyed the most about it was the fact that most of my suggestions were actually implemented, within a very short time of suggesting them! Most of my little pet peeves about the game from season 8 were abolished with my own input for season 9, which made season 9 a whole lot more enjoyable in my opinion. Others were a little upset about the orbs. But people brought that upon themselves, they hated the orbs, but kept on orbing the cities? I hope to be able to bring about more changes for the better of this game, and I want to keep playing it as much as I can as I've become really attached to talking to these people from day to day. The hard part is juggling family around this game, I try not to spend that much time playing it when I am at home, but my wife still complains.

Well this story explains why I love DA, I love the people, I love the competition of the minds. I love having admins who actually not only listen to my feedback, but act upon it in a timely matter! I hope other people who play this get as much enjoyment from this game as I have.
